  “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” (KJV)

  Truth Principle

  Truth isn't something people invent. It's something God has already spoken.

  Word Note

  Hebrew tsaraph ("pure," lit. refined/tested by fire). God's word has already passed every test.

• 02 Proverbs 23:23 The Value of Truth

  “Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.” (KJV)

  Truth Principle

  Truth is worth any price to gain, and never worth trading away, no matter what's offered for it.

  Word Note

  Hebrew qanah ("buy"), carries the sense of acquiring at cost, not receiving for free.

  “Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me know wisdom.” (KJV)

  Truth Principle

  God isn't satisfied with truthful appearances. He wants truthfulness at the level of the heart, where no one else can see.

  Word Note

  Hebrew tuchah ("inward parts"), refers to what is hidden, the innermost being.

  Truth Principle

  Truth doesn't just inform, it frees. But freedom comes to those who continue in it, not just those who hear it once.

  Word Note

  Greek meno ("continue/abide"), implies a settled, ongoing dwelling, not a passing visit.

  Your words are a window into your character. Truthful speech reveals righteousness, false speech reveals deceit.

  Hebrew emunah (root of "truth/faithfulness" language throughout Proverbs), conveys firmness and reliability, not just factual accuracy.

• 07 Proverbs 8:7 Wisdom and Truth

  “For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.” (KJV)

  Truth Principle

  In Proverbs, wisdom itself speaks, and what wisdom says is always true. Truth and wisdom can't be separated.

  Word Note

  Here wisdom is personified speaking in first person; the Hebrew text presents chokmah (wisdom) as a voice calling out to be heeded (see Prov 8:1–4).

• 08 Proverbs 19:5 Truth Builds, Lies Destroy

  “A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.” (KJV)

  Truth Principle

  Lies may seem to work in the short term, but Scripture is consistent: deception carries consequences that catch up eventually.

  Word Note

  Hebrew naqah ("unpunished/escape"), to be acquitted or held guiltless; the verse insists this acquittal will not happen.

  Truth Principle

  Truth in Scripture isn't only a set of statements. It's a Person. Jesus doesn't just tell the truth; He claims to be it.

  Word Note

  Greek aletheia ("truth"), literally "not hidden, unconcealed." Jesus as aletheia means God is fully revealed, not obscured, in Him.

  Understanding truth isn't a purely human achievement. The Holy Spirit actively guides believers into it.

  Greek hodegeo ("guide"), used of leading someone along a road, step by step, not delivering all knowledge at once.

  Truth isn't a destination you arrive at once. It's a path you walk daily, needing a united, undivided heart to stay on it.
